Meet Dr. William Baker

Dr. William Baker grew up in Oxford, Mississippi and believes a strong education is the best foundation for excellent patient care and dental skills.  Dr. Baker:

  • Received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Mississippi.
  • Graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.
  • Completed his dental practice residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. 

Because his heart and passion belonged to the great Magnolia state, Dr. Baker happily returned to Mississippi after completing his formal training to work alongside his uncle, Dr. Martin Baker, Sr., in Hattiesburg.

Dr. Baker’s passion for helping others has brought him to leadership roles in various organizations, including:

  • Board Member, DuBard School for Language Disorders.
  • Advisory Board Member, Pearl River Community College.
  • Current President, Mississippi Dental Association, District 3.
  • Advisory Board Member, USM College of Health

Continuing to fine-tune his skills, Dr. Baker commits a large part of his professional life to learning new and innovative techniques and treatments.  Dr. Baker:

  • Gained extended experience and specialized training in full-mouth reconstruction and in TMJ dysfunction from Dr. Pete Dawson in St. Petersburg, Florida and from Dr. Frank Spear in Seattle, Washington.
  • Earned an Associate Fellowship in laser dentistry.
  • Remains dedicated to further, ongoing education and to improving the concept of complete dentistry.

Dr. Baker is married to Jennie Bailey of Jackson, Mississippi.  Together, they have two boys, William and Curt, and are members of the Main Street Methodist Church.
